Mute Chair by Council

Sort of updated mid-century modern. Designed by San Franciscans Mike and Maaike for Council (remember the Section Bench?), the Mute Chair promises to "inspire serenity and calm".

 
 

Made of wool and powder-coated steel. Available in charcoal, white, blue, and red fabric.

Mute: $3150, Mute Ottoman: $1275. At Council.

This is ridiculous!! The previous post on council says:

"Thinking of the customer who wants modern-influenced pieces a step (or two) up from IKEA, he explains, “Right now you only have two choices. You can buy European or you can get the design classics from Knoll and Herman Miller. That’s great design, and I have them in my home, but maybe there is somebody out there who wants something a little bit fresher but still with European quality.”

This seating costs MORE than the womb chair and ottoman it's ripping off which is available from Knoll. Someone please explain?!

I love it! The chair looks like a gorgeous tub in the window at Waterworks. This one... the .25 What is it made out of? It looks almost ceramic, but its probably more comfortable.

Also, I contacted Council about the lack of info on the site and they told me they don't sell to the public.
