Best Home Store if You Had All the Money in the World: Top Shops 2006 poll

2006_12_03_best.jpgWith nominations for "best home store if you had all the money in the world" pouring in, we had a dilemma on our hands: we can only accomodate ten choices.

We had to make some cuts, so we stopped salivating and stepped up, cutting vintage, to-the-trade-only, and any large chain nominees, because they feel like different categories. That said, we do apologize if your nominee was left behind.

Links for all the spendy-contenders that remain are after the jump.

You neglected a choice for "none of the above". You neglected Knoll Studion whic will sells direct to you for a price. The stores that sell Knoll products as VARs (value added resellers) do not carry the complete Knoll line. If you want a genuine Saarinen tulip table with a WOOD top you have to got to Knoll or buy a used one vintage.

Stores like Limn sell some nice things but also sell an awful lot of trendy 'hot today' stuff. When I first went there back in the 80's (yes the 80's) they were chock full of that awful memphis stuff that you can't give away now. When you are paying top dollar you want timeless not Bobby Trendy.
